MORRIS, Cassel - Putnam

Funeral rites for Cassel O. Morris, 44, long a resident of this community, who died at the county hospital Thursday of last week, were held at the Chastain funeral home here Saturday afternoon. Rev. Ray Britton was in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Roachdale cemetery. Mr. Morris had been ill but a short time. He was a son of Henry and Sarah Broadstreet Morris and was born near here May 7, 1894. He was married June 10, 1915, to Lucille Wall, who survives. Besides the widow, other survivors are the father, of this place; a daughter, Mrs. Eileen Heagy of Indianapolis; four sons; Kenneth, Richard, Raymond and Gerald all at home; a sister; Mrs. Mae Densmore of Ladoga, two brothers; Emory of Brownstown and Walter, of Brazil, and two grandchildren. For many years Mr. Morris had been employed by the B. & O. railroad here at other points on the local branch as a section worker    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated.
